Your numbers. Venue fee only: ask whether the food minimum and other fees change by date too.

Saturday venue fee minus the other date's venue fee, before food, service and tax. The difference only. Metro Vancouver examples use each venue's own published rates, checked 8 Oct 2026, in the venue's own wording. Venues that don't publish a second rate aren't listed.

How it works

Type in two venue fees from the same venue: the Saturday fee, and the fee for the other date you're considering, such as a Friday, a Sunday, a weeknight or a winter date. The calculator takes one from the other and shows the difference in dollars.

That's all it does. It doesn't estimate a fee you haven't been quoted, and it doesn't tell you which date to book. The right date depends on your guests, your plans and what else changes with the day.

What counts as off-peak depends on the venue

There's no standard definition. Each venue sets its own days, seasons and hours, so use the wording on your quote. In Metro Vancouver, for example:

  • Hycroft Manor (2027): $15,500 for a full-day Saturday, $10,500 for a Friday half day. A difference of $5,000, for fewer hours.
  • UBC Boathouse (2027): $6,825 Friday to Sunday, April to October, and $3,150 Monday to Thursday, November to March. A difference of $3,675, for the same 8 hours.

Pick a venue under "Numbers from" in the calculator to see every rate it publishes, in its own words. For the full picture, including food and service, read what a 100-guest wedding really costs at Vancouver venues.

Compare like for like

A lower fee isn't always the same thing for less. Before you count the difference as money saved, check what else changes with the date:

  • Hours: is the cheaper date a half day or a shorter evening?
  • Food and drink: does the food and beverage minimum or per-guest price change by day or season?
  • Other fees: do security, staffing or overtime cost the same?
  • Year: are both fees for your wedding year?

To compare the whole bill rather than the venue fee, put each date's numbers through the wedding venue cost calculator.

What to ask the venue

  1. What's the venue fee for each date we're considering, and what hours does each include?
  2. Which days and months count as peak, and which as off-peak?
  3. Does the food and beverage minimum change by date?
  4. Are these rates for our wedding year?

How we built this

The method is subtraction on the two numbers you enter; nothing is estimated or averaged. The example venues use the venue fees each venue publishes on its own website, rate sheet or wedding guide, checked 8 Oct 2026, labelled in the venue's own words. A venue that publishes only one rate isn't offered as an example. No venue pays to be listed on WeddingVenuer.
